THE HARVEST-TO-HANDOFF FIELDBOOK / Pack a better brief

Count melons, bins and bin uses separately.

The dispatch worksheet is an arithmetic aid. It keeps a planned count assumption visible beside the result.

Choose a declared planning input

Enter melons per day, days in the planning period and the planned count per bin. Use an assumption agreed for the real container and product before turning the result into an order. The worksheet does not determine packing capacity.

Round each day deliberately

The tool rounds each day’s required containers up to a whole number, then multiplies by operating days. This assumes each day is planned separately. Explain any different batching or carryover arrangement in the enquiry.

Distinguish uses from containers owned

A count of bin uses does not assume returns, reuse or turnaround time. Confirm the operating cycle before deciding how many physical containers to purchase. Keep the forecast and actual use log together.
