An empty bin needs a named next route.

Ownership, condition and intended next use determine the questions to ask about a returned container.

Confirm ownership first

Check whether a bin or pallet is returnable or belongs to another party. Obtain the owner’s instructions before offering it elsewhere. Empty packaging at a receiving site is not automatically available for reuse.

Keep condition and history visible

Record known contents, storage and visible damage. Separate unknown or suspect material. Any proposed food-contact reuse needs the responsible parties to review suitability for the actual next use.

Agree material recovery where needed

Ask the receiving operator about accepted materials, preparation and transport. Keep liners and other components identifiable. Prices, acceptance and pickup arrangements need a confirmed agreement.
