Describe what touches the produce
List the bin, liner and any other material that may contact the melons. Tell the supplier the intended conditions of use. Keep decorative or marketing descriptions separate from the material specification.
Request the right evidence
Ask the responsible supplier for documentation applicable to the actual materials and intended use. FDA explains that food-contact substance notifications are specific to identified manufacturers, substances and conditions of use. A generic claim about a different product is not enough.
Review substitutions before use
Record approved components and how changes are checked by your food-safety and packaging teams. Do not infer suitability from appearance, cleanliness or prior use. Keep unresolved contact questions out of a confirmed purchase specification.
